Aber selbst ich, der sie schon zig Mal gehört, nachgelesen und selbst erzählt hat, kann sie mir nicht wirklich merken. Also hier noch mal die Eckdaten: Als sie Mitte der 80er anfingen, in Detroit Techno zu produzieren, haben die Macher versucht, musikalisch auf ihre Umgebung zu reagieren – auf Detroit als Industriestadt, als Autofabrikzentrum, in der Roboter große Teile der Produktion übernommen haben. Und auf Detroit als Stadt, in der das Zentrum nach und nach zerfällt. Dabei packten sie in ihre elektronischen Instrumente eine Art neuartigen Soul, vor allem dank der streichermäßig eingesetzten Synthie-Flächen.”

Northern Shore veröffentlicht in regelmäßigen Abständen Mixe zum Thema Dubtechno. In diesem arbeitet er sich an dem fabelhaften Label Deep Chord ab. Kann man dann eigentlich nix falsch machen und so ist dieser 2 Stunden Mix auch ein wunderbarer Rundflug durch rauschende Echokammern.
