Eine ordentliche Elektro Braindance Klatsche mit Breaks aus dem Jahre 2003 von Cylob. Für Bodyshaker und die, die es noch werden wollen.

“A few tracks in this mix are played incorrectly on purpose at 45 rpm (and sound better actually), the Standing Ovation track and the Jam & Spoon stand out.

Another interesting note about this mix is that one of these tracks was leaked as an Analord track by AFX before the series started (sounded like a live bootleg). There’s a lot of mystery around this track, sounds like an early AFX track, although Cylob claims (and actually told me in person) this is a nameless white label he found in a record shop. It’s also been posted on youtube as “Squarepusher Unreleased track”. Shame it will never see a wider release. “

Mike Paradinas aka µ-ziq hatte in den 1990er Jahren einen unglaublichen Output.
Die Alben Tango N’ Vectif (Rephlex / ’93), Lunatic Harness (Astralwerks / ’97) sowie Royal Astronomy (Hut Recordings / ’99) stehen noch heute bei mir hoch im Kurs und deshalb wird es Zeit für eine weitere musikalische Zeitreise in Form dieses Fucking Braindance Deluxe Livesets von 1994.

“One of the first live sets I performed, off Atari computer sequencer with outboard synths and drum machine. This was around the first couple of months of 1994, just a few months after Tango N’Vectif came out, as I recall. At ‘Pure’, The Venue, Carlton Rd, Edinburgh.”

“Many times the borderlands between jazz and electronica have been explored but too often the two styles doesn’t seem to melt. Danish trio consisting of Aske Krammer, Oliver Duckert and Brian Møller has been working in this particular area for almost a decade by now. This long practice was easily heard on the bands debut as it was released in the early spring of 2007. The album titled S.T. was an experimental fusion of acoustic instruments and textures of rhythmic complexity. It was a demanding but rewarding experience. Now two years later Badun is ready with the follow-up to the debut. The album titled “Tandoori tentacle” stays in the avantgarde approach to jazz/electronica. The album contains four pieces that generally floats in nocturnal sound spheres. As was the case with the previous effort the compositions of the three members are extremely organic. Multi-layered breakbeat textures swirls in nocturnal soundscapes of acoustic instruments where first of all guitar and electric piano plays an important role. Despite its hypercomplex and futurist nature integrating elements of fusion jazz, breakbeat science and cinematic ambience, the music has an interesting retrospective 70′s character drawing association towards the dramatic soundtracks of Lalo Schifrin. This “hard-to-categorize” and unpredictable nature is what makes this ep such an alluring experience!”

Der Freeload aus dem digitalen Hause n5MD ist ein Remixgebräu zum demnächst erscheinenden Album Where Do We Float From Here? (wahrscheinlich 30.3.2010) des Isländers Ruxpin. Vier neue Tracks obendrauf und fertig ist das Geschenk. Ambient, Shoegaze, Braindance oder wie man diese Downing Beats auch immer nennen mag. Ich finds chilli enough to post it – here and now.

Funckarma veröffentlichen am 25. Februar auf Eat Concrete Ihre Dubstoned EP3. Als Preview empfehle ich eine gute Anlage oder Kopfhörer sonst wird man dem Release nicht gerecht.

Die Vinyl Edition wird einen Download Code enthalten um alle Tracks als WAV’s zu laden. Bei der digitalen Variante
gibts neben dem Herrmutt Lobby Remix von ‘Nays of Dight’ noch den Bonus Track ‘Solaz Flair’ dazu.

Ein paar Worte aus dem Release Sheet: Dubstoned 3 is equally intelligent as it is rude. Funckarma arranges light
melodic tones with bass-heavy beats on this 4 (or 6) track EP. The mid tempo rhythms and sounds contrast beautifully with the crushing beats and clear production, typical of Funckarma’s style..

Unter dem Soundcloud Account von Eat Concrete kann man jetzt schon in die EP hineinhören. Besonders ‘Delibel’ hat mir gefallen, was wohl dem Piano geschuldet ist.
